Role

Who you are

  • This position requires an outstanding blend of project management expertise, agile methodologies, and a deep understanding of employee needs. Your main responsibilities include:
  • 6+ years of experience in Technical Project/Program Management, ideally within a software development or IT environment
  • 4+ years of Agile experience: Scrum, Kanban and a track record of Agile project delivery
  • 3+ years of experience in the enterprise collaboration space: Google Workspace, Microsoft solutions, etc
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and influence people at all levels
  • Proactive, independent, able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for finding innovative solutions to challenges
  • Dedication to delivering outstanding employee experiences through technology
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or similar certifications

What the job involves

  • You'll play a role in crafting the future of how our employees interact and benefit from technology
  • Drive end-to-end project management of technical initiatives, from conception to deployment, ensuring timely delivery, within budget, and meeting high-quality standards
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, etc.), Cultivate a collaborative team environment, and remove roadblocks to ensure smooth project execution
  • Partner optimally with across the organization, including product managers, engineers, IT, and business leaders, to align project goals and ensure outcomes
  • Understand and advocate for employee needs, capturing feedback, and translating insights into actionable project requirements
  • Show proficiency in common workplace productivity tools and stay up-to-date with new technologies
  • Provide clear and concise project updates, build documentation, and track key performance indicators

Workday is a cloud-based software vendor that provides management of workforces and finances. The company uses a single database for workforce management and financial management to offer integration and optimize business intelligence across companies. It has added to the packages and tools it offers over the years, providing analytic options that allow companies to combine third-party data with information collected by Workday.

Workday has acquired and paired up with many other companies to keep expanding its offering. In 2021, it purchased the employee feedback platform Peakon in response to the growing need for managers to be able to survey workers and collect satisfaction data without face-to-face meetings. The company has also bought and developed many financial tools and HR management tools.

The company’s goal is to provide end-to-end back office services and while there are other providers, such as UKG Pro and Ceridian HCM, Workday’s broad offering helps them to stand out. Though it faced a tough global market in 2023 and has shed some of its headcount, Workday has seen a 6.5% gain in value in the first quarter of 2024. It is now focusing on growth and developing the AI capabilities of its platform. .
