  • Your deep understanding of economy dynamics and analytics will be pivotal in crafting strategic insights that propel Candy Crush Saga to new heights
  • Comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of fast-paced economic systems, focusing on analysis and optimization. Ability to dissect complex economies to drive data-driven narratives and strategic decisions
  • Expertise in handling analytically complex projects, from concept to execution
  • Consistent track record as a key partner in cross-functional teams dedicated to developing economic systems or similar projects
  • Highly proficient in SQL as well as sufficient skills in Python or R for numerical analysis
  • Prior experience working directly with other peers in data science, engineering, consumer research, and business intelligence
  • Masters’ or PhD Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Engineering or similar field or work experience

What the job involves

  • We are looking for a talented Senior Principal Product Analyst to push and deeply understand the performance of our game economy as part of the Candy Crush Saga team
  • You will get the opportunity to be part of a great team, working with an industry leading and genre defining game with over 200 million active players
  • As the Senior Principal Product Analyst, you are tasked with leading the charge in holistically understanding, analysing, and optimising our game economy
  • You will work cross-functionally with Product Managers, Game Economy/System Designers and Engineers to not only analyse current economic systems, but also innovate and guide implementation of solutions that boost player engagement
  • This role is crucial for driving the analytical foundation of our game economy work, including strategy, experimentation cycles and delivery of actionable insights to have a positive impact on our understanding, decision-making, and ultimately our player satisfaction
  • Support the product area and growth via evaluation, performance reporting and data driven recommendations, including data and tech project coordination
  • Identify data-driven opportunities for your team, fostering value creation and problem-solving without predefined solutions
  • Use knowledge about existing tools, methodologies and insights to both deepen analytical understanding and apply these to different problems
  • Provide strategic actions based on insights from your expertise in business, industry trends and competitor landscape; drive business observability
  • Create and coordinate work smartly to deliver value continuously and mitigate risk independently
  • Guide stakeholders and the data community in improving ways of working, support tools and processes, collaborating cross-functionally to guarantee value delivery
  • Clearly communicate the findings of your analysis to colleagues, enabling them to utilize the insights for learning or decision-making. Clearly and concisely report results and progress, ensuring conclusions are drawn from transparently cited sources
  • Foster strong relationships with other key functions across the business

Gaming is one of the world’s fastest-growing industries, but many still view gaming as inconvenient, inaccessible, or niche. King solves that problem by designing mobile games with broad market appeal.

Since its launch, King has released more than 200 titles in 14 languages, including Candy Crush, Farm Heroes, Bubble Witch, Pet Rescue, and more. The company pioneered in-game spending, which allows it to monetize user interactions without charging them to buy the game. Titles such as Candy Crush are designed to be highly accessible to demographics that wouldn’t usually define themselves as β€œgamers”, including older users. King now boasts more than 200 million monthly active users, making it a clear market leader.

In 2016, King was bought by gaming giant Activision Blizzard, which has since been purchased by Microsoft. While the company still operates with a high degree of independence, it has greatly profited from the financial and marketing support of its parent corporation. This support has been instrumental in enabling King to maintain its competitiveness in the constantly evolving mobile gaming industry.
