What the job involves
- Be part of a small and productive engineering team
- Architect elegant and maintainable code with a balance of autonomy and support from the team
- Build new, viral social products from the ground up
- Assist in designing and conducting product experiments, which you’ll use with user research to learn and iterate
- Defend your beliefs but be persuadable: have strong problem-solving intuition and be ready to back it up—though commit to final decision even if it isn’t yours

- 2. First-round video interview with Liam (Founder & CEO) and Elizabeth (30 minutes)
- 3. Second-round technical interview with Jacob (full-stack engineer) and Liam (1 hour)
- 4. Final round build sesh with the broader team (1 hour)

The Marriage Pact is a dating service committed to finding life partners, that was founded at Stanford University in 2017. Now, 98% of Stanford students participate in the matchmaking scheme.
There are much more popular dating apps out there, such as Tinder, Bumble and Hinge. These services, however, imply that finding love is as simple as seeing a picture or reading a fun fact. The Marriage Pact is determined to create more meaningful relationships. There are no profiles or pictures. Instead, participants answer a thorough 50-question survey from which the algorithm introduces people they think are worth considering long term.
Approximately 30% of participants end up meeting their match and of that fraction, 1/8 are said to still be dating a year on. It has grown exponentially since its fruition, now existing in over 80 colleges across the U.S. Recent funding will see growth and expansion, such as current development of paid additions to the free service.
