Who you are
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in a regulation-driven environment OR HNC/HND with 7 years of experience, preferably in a senior/leadership or manager position
- Excellent understanding of Product Compliance, including relevant regulations such as REACH, RoHS, Prop65, etc
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ideally in Office 365 environments
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems, document control (e.g., PDM, SAP, SharePoint), and project management tools (e.g., Wrike, MS Projects)
- Strong people management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop awareness of Product Compliance
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams and implement change based on compliance analysis and risk
- Commitment to safety and adherence to Health & Safety policies, leading by example
- Strong leadership skills to establish the right structure, resources, and culture to support business goals and customer needs
What the job involves
- Lead the maintenance and integration of global Product Compliance for Bicycles and Electric Systems, focusing on regulatory and regular compliance testing
- Stay up-to-date with industry benchmarks and regulations, communicate any impact or risks to stakeholders, and provide guidance on effective compliance protocols
- Support the development and delivery of Brompton's Compliance Strategy, aligning with regulatory requirements and the Product Roadmap
- Enhance Product Compliance knowledge throughout the company and provide comprehensive training on product compliance and liability
- Handle product compliance crises, ensuring effective management and mitigation of risks, aligned with industry best practices
- Manage relationships with external partners, regulators, and stakeholders to optimize performance and achieve business goals
- Conduct regular product testing, maintain compliance documentation, and collaborate with external testing agencies
- Establish and implement Product Compliance processes and protocols, ensuring adherence to market/region regulations and laws
- Chair the Brompton Global Compliance Steering Group and oversee company-wide compliance initiatives
- Monitor and report on product compliance and performance, tracking progress through data analysis and reporting
