Role
Who you are
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on full-stack development
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
- Proficient in Frontend Development: React, TypeScript
- Skilled in Backend Development: Java, Spring Boot
- Strong experience in cloud technologies and architecture preferably AWS
- Proven record of accomplishment in leading and managing the full lifecycle of platform features and projects
- Proficiency in database management (SQL, NoSQL) and version control (e.g., Git)
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes)
- Strong knowledge of Git source control
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills
- Strategic thinking with the ability to align technical initiatives with business goals
- Proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Commitment to quality, security, and continuous improvement
- Familiar with agile processes and tooling such as Jira
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
What the job involves
- Technical Leadership: Lead the development of solution architectures, ensuring alignment with business goals. Oversee all stages of software development, driving construction activities and adopting appropriate methods and tools
- Design and Development: Specify and design large, complex software applications. Conduct impact analysis on major design options, ensuring designs meet functional, quality, and security standards
- Policy Development: Contributes to the development of organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for software development
- Release and Deployment: Lead the planning and design of release packages, ensuring processes are applied effectively, with the ability to roll back as needed
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Innovation and Best Practices: Champion industry best practices, staying updated with trends and driving innovation in our products and processes
- Security and Compliance: Implement secure architectures, enforce security measures, and ensure compliance with regulations
- Strategic Decision Making: Make strong technical decisions while remaining open to innovative ideas and approaches
