Role

Who you are

  • Start-up experience strongly preferred, as well as experience using analytics to drive key business decisions
  • Must be fluent in data storytelling and creating compelling data visualizations in Excel, Google Spreadsheets, and Tableau
  • Strong proficiency with SQL and its variation among popular databases
  • Basic knowledge of finance topics such as financial accounting, modeling, and corporate finance
  • A passion for the mission and problem we’re solving

  • Proficiency in Python and a familiarity with included statistical packages is a plus
  • Experience with the Salesforce ecosystem; building reports and collaborating with systems administrators to design and implement solutions

What the job involves

  • As a Business Operations Analyst, you will own the data that informs the operational decision making at Voltus
  • In this role, you will partner with teams from across the business — from our product and engineering teams to our field operations team to our customer success team — to unpack ambiguous problems and build lasting, scalable solutions
  • Your work will vary from analytical problem solving to process and data improvements and building core dashboards and tables — all in the pursuit of helping grow how Voltus operates and measures itself
  • Serve as a strategic advisor for Voltus’ people leaders and General Managers, offering data driven insights and recommendations for strategic planning and goal setting
  • Develop analyses, dashboards, and reporting to enable better operational decisions
  • Monitor and report key metrics to proactively launch analyses and identify growth levers
  • Build data systems from zero to one: from data flow to reporting and the decision-making process, ensuring that data insights are accessible and actionable across the company
  • Whatever it takes to solve complex problems and build scalable processes

The push towards green energy, in combination with the sharp pivot away from traditional energy sources like natural gas, has accelerated the development and commercialisation of new electrical supply solutions. Voltus doesn’t manage as much load as competitors in the space like Enel X and CPower, but with its 2021 SPAC funding, it’s aggressively driving to capture more of what’s quickly becoming a hefty market opportunity. Behind-the-meter loads like water heaters and AC, and energy sources like microgrids and EV chargers are increasingly sought after by businesses and land owners, and Voltus is benefitting from partnerships with large businesses such as Madison Square Gardens Arena and Western Grain Marketing.
