To give small business owners a great experience while getting the finance they need.

  • Delivery focused, and driven to make things happen
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You thrive in environments that require building relationships built on trust and expertise
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English; English is the primary business language

Desirable

  • A strong interest in tech solutions, and how tech is built (even if you’re not a developer)
  • A natural curiosity to spot, break down and resolve problems
  • A strong numerate background, i.e. maths, physics, statistics, computer science, or similar
  • You are a team player with a fine balance of confidence, gravitas, humility and enthusiasm: you will need to work with various stakeholders to get stuff done in a rapidly growing environment
  • Excited about helping small businesses thrive - belief in the significance of our mission
  • Any level of German language skills

What the job involves

  • As the Product Manager of the new CRM Team (Germany) you would be responsible for adapting, improving and scaling these tools for teams supporting our customers in Germany
  • You will be joining a newly created team focused on adapting and improving internal tools for our colleagues serving customers in Germany
  • The CRM team, known as Backyard Gardeners (BYG), created our proprietary CRM software (called Backyard), as well as the systems supporting calls, emails, notifications, underwriting and collection processes
  • These systems are used by more than 300 people in the company who interact with our customers - such as sales, customer success, credit analysts, broker account managers, collections specialists
  • Lead the development and be responsible for the team’s roadmap by running prioritisation meetings and managing stakeholders
  • Use qualitative and quantitative methodologies to discover insights and opportunities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to make sure that the team and the business stay aligned on progress and goals
  • Break down complex technical challenges into manageable components and facilitate effective problem-solving within the team, fostering agility and adaptability
  • Collaborate closely with programmers and designers to craft comprehensive product and feature requirement documents that align business objectives and user needs
  • Deliver new features swiftly by managing intermediate milestones and removing blockers
  • Evaluate the impact of projects after they have concluded to determine whether value was realised (and if not, work out what we can learn from it / what we could do to improve it)
  • Ensure the quality of delivery, by following up post-release to proactively find bugs etc

Our take

UK SME's are the backbone of a complex economy that is constantly changing, so the need for fast and responsive access to finance is becoming more and more important to ensure their success and growth. iwoca allows SMEs access to business loans in less than a minute, with its API and business marketplace partnerships.

With offerings like iwoca's, gone are the days where waiting up to eight weeks for a loan decision was viable. Its simplified business loans of £1,000 - £500,000 come with no fees attached, and applying online takes no more than five minutes. The ready availability of iwoca loans gives business owners a level of certainty, so that they can make instant decisions to help their business grow.

iwoca has made a number of partnerships with other players in the business finance space, including an impressive industry-first invoice checkout integration with QuickBooks. Funding raised by the company, which is now operating at net profitability, will enable it to meet a recent surge in demand for corporate loans. The company has made several billion in funding available to over 100,000 businesses since launching, positioning itself as a leading European fintech.

Company values

  • Motivated: Going to work shouldn't feel like a slog, so we want everyone in the team to personally care about what they're working on. We stay motivated by celebrating our wins, learning from our mistakes, and always looking for new gaps to step into.
  • Smart: At iwoca being smart isn't about what you know, it's about how you think. Smart thinking means looking at each problem by asking ‘why’ first, then figuring out ‘how’.
  • Humble: We know all ideas are flawed, all code has bugs, and everyone makes mistakes - it’s how we learn. For us, being humble means you question yourself first, rather than your team.
  • Growth Mindset: We think there's always a better way to solve a problem. So we never let ourselves get comfortable with being good enough.
