Role
Who you are
- You have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Global Payroll Management Institute (GPMI) designation is a plus
- You have payroll processing experience in the UK, Austria or the Czech Republic. US Payroll experience is a plus
- You have a generalist understanding payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor legislation globally
- You pay attention to the details, and ensure accuracy in payroll calculations and data entry
- You’re proficient in using payroll software and systems such as ADP, Workday or similar platforms, and have proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, experience in macros is a plus
- You have managed the implementation of new payroll, whether that be a new country or an acquisition
- You have been part of a payroll transformation project
- You’re an exceptional communicator who can work cross-functionally, solve problems creatively, and implement solutions
What the job involves
- We're looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join Canva's Payroll party, to be responsible for leading the end-to-end payroll process for multiple countries, ensuring Canvanauts are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- This role is a hybrid role attached to our London office
- Preparing end-to-end payroll processing for multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness
- Apply payroll laws, regulations, and tax requirements globally, ensuring our payroll processes are compliant
- Driving continuous improvement within the payroll team and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency, data integrity and accuracy
- Providing analytical skills by catching and escalating complex payroll issues and ensuring excellent customer service
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to communicate and implement payroll-related changes, policies, and procedures
- As the Payroll team continues to transform processes and systems, this will be a great opportunity to be involved in multiple projects and initiatives
