Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience
- Excellent knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets
- Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS
- Proactive nature and ability to work independently
- Analytical, meticulous and deadline driven
- Prior experience handling a high volume of revenue transactions
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Experience with QuickBooks Online required, experience with Maxio preferred
- Experience in SaaS industry preferred
What the job involves
- We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations and help to establish a best in class accounting function at Way
- Senior Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing month-end close procedures
- The Senior Accountant is extremely detail oriented and understands that every transaction is important and must be accurately recorded to give the business transparency on performance and resource allocation
- Time management and organization within the role is paramount
- The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in the operations of our business, ensuring our data and documentation is accurate at all times
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Analyze, reconcile, and follow up on AR aging
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries
- Continually improve and automate existing processes
- Verify reconciliations are finalized and reconcile all account balances thoroughly
- Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements for US and France based entities
- Analyze and prepare billing for monthly refunds and disputes
- Review source documentation to ensure revenue has been correctly calculated
- Ensure new contracts, renewals, and churn are properly reflected across all systems
- Provide support on ad-hoc projects as required
