Role

Who you are

  • 6+ years of hands-on security operations experience in the modern cloud environments
  • Experience in triaging and responding to cyber threats, alerts, and incidents
  • Experience in log analysis, incident response and/or digital forensics
  • Experience with SIEM and centralized data lake logging (e.g., Splunk, Snowflake)
  • Experience with Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR)
  • Experience securing cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, and/or Azure
  • Proficient in programming languages to automate/build features (e.g., Python, Go)
  • Understand techniques, tools and procedures used by threat actors
  • Strong fundamentals of linux and macOS
  • Automation-first approach for all work performed
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Team player with a strong self-managing work ethic

What the job involves

  • Klaviyo is looking for a Senior Security Engineer to add to our growing Security Intelligence Operations Team
  • This is a hands-on role that involves responding to cyber threats and incidents, performing digital forensics and investigations, and automating threat response playbooks
  • As a member of the team, you will have the opportunity to work on complex large-scale security challenges and collaborate with engineers across the enterprise to improve security posture of Klaviyo’s Corporate and Cloud environments
  • Respond to alerts, cyber threats, and incidents
  • Drive end-to-end incident response investigations
  • Perform host and network based log analysis in a cloud first environment
  • Serve as the incident commander during incidents
  • Develop and codify threat response processes and playbooks
  • Perform digital forensic investigations to include collection and analysis of evidence
  • Build security tools and to automate threat response tasks
  • Develop detailed post incident and investigation reports
  • Solution complex challenges and work on projects centered around security operations
  • Collaborate with detection engineers to identify threat detection use cases
  • Work with engineering stakeholders to improve security posture post investigations
  • Coach and mentor junior team members within the detection & response team

Operating primarily within the retail and eCommerce industry, Klaviyo aims to solve this by offering a tool that brings together analytics and messaging. This allows companies to bring all of their first-party data into a single platform to get a deep understanding of their customers and then activate that data to deliver highly-targeted, personalised communications through email and SMS. In the process, Klaviyo's customers get a deep understanding of their consumers.

Klaviyo is a fast-growing company mainly due to its business model - the firm offers a concrete ROI for Klaviyo’s clients if the software persuades customers to make purchases by treating different types of customers differently. An IPO in 2023 has led to Klaviyo's release of Klaviyo AI, which empowers businesses to unlock revenue-driving opportunities and deliver exceptional customer experiences across channels. Still in its early days of public listing, it will be interesting to see how Klaviyo fares in the years to come.
