Who you are

  • We’re looking for a Head of Enterprise Sales, Canada with an established record of sales leadership and revenue generation with a deep interest and passion for online media, music and innovation!
  • We want someone who has a passion for working with clients, developing relationships externally and internally, is proficient in public speaking and engaged with the local market
  • You have 12+ years of digital advertising / marketing sales experience including 8+ years in sales leadership which also includes 5+ years of larger staff management
  • You have outstanding go-to-market strategy and operational discipline that can lead a team to efficiently and effectively move important revenue initiatives throughout a large organization with high velocity
  • You are highly motivated, organized and entrepreneurial

  • You have great communication, consultative selling, problem solving and negotiating skills

  • You have mastered the fundamentals of sales management and leadership including forecasting, client research, pitch and presentations skills, bottoms up planning, and meeting reports
  • You have leadership experience with successful management skills and lead by example

What the job involves

  • You will oversee advertising efforts and lead a team of hardworking and consultative sales professionals
  • In collaboration with the Head of NA Sales, define the regional sales growth strategy for enterprise sellers in Canada while driving execution, setting ambitious and achievable plans and targets to support profitable revenue growth
  • Manage sales forecasts accurately, set budgets and goals for the sales team
  • Implement/lead/oversee client events, social engagements, and sponsorships based on local market dynamics and broad business knowledge
  • Represent the Spotify Brand at client/agency summits through public speaking, panel moderation, and keynotes
  • Hire, manage, mentor & develop a DOS within the region
  • Hire, manage & develop the growing Enterprise Sales team including salespeople & support staff
  • Build upon established relationships and develop new relationships with key industry executive decision-makers across Canada
  • Analyze, validate and update sales performance and critical metrics to maximize growth
  • Develop standard methodologies and demonstrate efficiencies that can scale from local to global
  • Maintain high levels of communication and transparency with management, cross-functional teams, and business partners internally and externally

The company has achieved this by making smart acquisitions to move into other verticals to strengthen its offerings, especially podcasting, by acquiring Gimlet Media, Anchor and Parcast.

Spotify's future plans include rapid growth with a goal to become a one-stop destination for all digital sound, as well as AI and NFT integrations. However, high costs incurred from the acquisition of exclusive podcasts, increasing competitor strength, and weak bottom-line growth mean that the company must find a balance to maintain its position in the sector.
