Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Kubernetes, infrastructure as code using Terraform, CI/CD automation with a preference for GitLab CI or Concourse, and a solid understanding of the AWS stack
- The candidate should excel in automating container deployments using Helm, Docker, and Kubernetes, and be well-versed in best practices for containerisation
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD methodologies
- Proficiency in at least one CI/CD tool, preferably GitLab CI or Concourse
- Strong understanding of the AWS stack and its associated services
- Experience automating container deployments with Helm, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with Istio, Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus, Java, and/or NodeJS is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Security Clearance: SC Clearable
What the job involves
- We are seeking a skilled AWS DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team
- This role also involves expertise in availability and capacity management
- Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters
- Optimise and scale Kubernetes infrastructure
- Implement best practices for Kubernetes security and performance
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to automate and streamline the deployment, monitoring, and management processes
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, with a preference for GitLab CI or Concourse
- Ensure reliable and efficient code deployment processes
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of AWS services and effectively leverage them in the DevOps processes
- Automate container deployments using Helm, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Enforce best practices for containerisation, including security and resource optimisation
- Familiarity with Istio for service mesh configuration and management
- Implement and manage monitoring and observability solutions using Kibana, Grafana, and Prometheus
- Ensure high availability of systems and applications
- Proactively manage system capacity, performance, and scaling
