Who you are
- Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
Desirable
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

- We are looking for a passionate, talented Software Development Engineer who can drive key engineering and business decisions that impact Amazon’s long-term vision, including innovation in the delivery and consumption of media and entertainment
- In this development role, you will have an enormous opportunity to make a large impact on the design, architecture, and implementation of cutting edge products used every day, by people you know
- As a Software Development Engineer in the team, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative consumer products by developing and integrating Android based features and applications
- The scale and scope at which you would be working is very broad
- Lead the development of new Android innovative features and applications and initiatives across the organization, so having Android OS experience is very essential for this role
- Investigate, prototype, and deliver new and innovative software applications
- Deliver high quality software through working in a diverse, team-focused Agile/Scrum environment
- Instil best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver quality work

On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
