Otta's take

Theo Margolius

COO of Otta

Beam Benefits was originally founded with the mission to modernize the dental benefits industry. The company successfully tapped into a gap in the market, at the time employee benefits generally focused on healthcare, and whilst dental care plans are usually provided, these are often minimal to save on spendings. Beam's first product was Beam Brush: one of the first examples of the IoT in healthcare.

Since then the company has significantly grown, now being available in over 45 states, being used by 250,000+ people, and having attracted serious funding. This new capital has allowed Beam to expand beyond dental. As it looks ahead, it is forming a one stop shop of employee benefits including vision, life, disability, and supplemental health.
