Role
Who you are
- 6+ years of experience building cloud infrastructure for distributed systems
- Mastery of core AWS services including governance, networking, compute, and storage
- Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools
- Deep knowledge of operating Kubernetes at scale leveraging Istio and cloud native CI/CD tools like ArgoCD
- A passionate engineer: you love to take on seemingly impossible technical problems to find creative and robust solutions
- A hard worker: you are willing to put in the extra effort, not because you are told, but because you enjoy your work and you bring a level of craft and professionalism
- A gamer: you have a passion for gaming, and you know what separates exceptional games from average ones. This will help you make technical tradeoffs and anticipate system needs
- We do not want a firefighter. We want an architect/builder who is able to eliminate fires and anticipate needs
What the job involves
- You will be the chief engineer and architect of our company-wide infrastructure
- You will work closely with engineering teams to maintain and improve a state of the art infrastructure layer that includes fully automated deployments, infrastructure entirely as code, CICD, a comprehensive visibility and monitoring layer, automated load testing, local-to-cloud development workflows, and more

1047 Games is an independent game developer and the creator of Splitgate. The team initially developed the game as a side project but due to its quick rise in popularity, they turned their focus entirely on Splitgate.
A free-to-play first-person shooter, Splitgate launched to players' screens in July of 2021 and within the first few weeks of its release, surpassed 10M downloads. The game has attracted a large player base and is a popular choice on Twitch, with many streamers playing and promoting the game to their audiences. Due to the success of the game, 1047 has secured partnerships with various eSport organizations with the game being featured in many eSport tournaments and events.
Development on the game has begun to slow down, but the developers have announced they are now turning their focus to a new game that will be set in the Splitgate universe. While there is little information on what this new game will involve, 1047 is in a strong position to continue to grow and make a name for itself in the gaming industry due to the success Splitgate has demonstrated.
