Senior/Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Sardine

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Machine Learning or related roles
• Significant experience in Fraud, Risk, Compliance, Payments, or FinTech domains is essential
• Proven ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced startup environment
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with backend development experience
• A degree in computer science, machine learning, statistics, or a related field
• Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering high-quality results
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with data warehousing, ETL tools, and machine learning lifecycle management
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, or Docker
• A proven track record of collaboration with data scientists to build, deploy, and refine models

• As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will be integral to designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge machine learning solutions to mitigate fraud and risk, ensuring optimal outcomes for both Sardine and our clients
• Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the development of robust machine-learning infrastructure and feature engineering capabilities
• Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms, integrating them into the overall system
• Enhance backend systems for feature processing and model serving, optimizing efficiency and reliability
• Own strategic initiatives, translating high-level objectives into actionable machine-learning solutions
• Engage with large-scale data sets and data pipelines to extract meaningful insights
• Establish ML observability to ensure models perform reliably in production
• Build scalable machine learning infrastructure using tools like Vertex AI, Apache Beam, and Kubeflow
• Develop systems and libraries to streamline integration
• Conduct experiments and assess model performance to optimize outcomes
