Who you are
- 4+ years experience with React
- Experience with NextJS and Tailwind CSS
- A passion for great UX and responsive design
- Focus on testing your own code and committing production-ready code
- Expert level knowledge of CSS / SCSS with proven experience animating interactions
- In-depth knowledge of semantic HTML and accessibility
- A wide knowledge of developing responsive / adaptive layouts for multiple browsers and platforms, including desktop, tablet, and mobile
- Experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript
- You’re an engineer who deeply appreciates design and consistency. You can faithfully implement a design built in Figma, giving meaningful feedback and even making changes to the design yourself if necessary
- You are a team player who enjoys figuring out solutions to complex problems. You have a feeling for design and can translate design to product. You are familiar with the latest technologies in frontend development and love to stay up to date with the latest developments
- You are detail-oriented, mindful of deadlines, and you have a high sense of responsibility

What the job involves
- We are looking for an experienced Frontend Developer to join us in a hybrid setting in Amsterdam (3 days per week in the office), who will be part of our team that continuously builds and maintains our website, demos, dashboard and documentation
- As a Frontend Developer, you will primarily focus on the development of the previously mentioned products, working closely with the front-end lead, other engineers and the design team, to implement new features that improve the user experience of those using the products
- Make sure features are implemented correctly and with an eye for detail
- Pixel-perfect implementation of design by close collaboration
- Focus on reusability, performance, user experience and SEO
- Improve and build upon multiple of our front-end related products
- Think strategically about technical improvements, structure and refactoring
Our take
Every day, people all over the world communicate via in-app chats. However, chat and UX tools can take months to build and years to perfect. Stream solves this problem by allowing developers to build chat and activity streams into apps quickly and without hassle.
Having started out building APIs for activity feeds, Stream quickly moved into the lucrative chat market. Its customers now include household names such as Unilever, NBC Sports, and TaskRabbit, and it has seen funding from both big-name firms and startup CEOs- a clear indication of the company's broad appeal.
The company has lately been focussed on further developing its in-house technology, in order to fuel its continued growth in the coming years. It continues to enrich its Activity Feed, Chat SDK and 2022-released AI-based Moderation products, as well as developing Live Video capabilities, which it states clients have been interested in for some time.
