  • You understand how people consume digital content in our fast-paced, ever-scrolling world and make strategic suggestions based on your experience and knowledge. You’re comfortable using brand and digital metrics to bolster recommendations
  • You’re self-motivated and comfortable working at pace and are able to keep momentum on multiple tasks concurrently. You’re meticulous even when working at speed with unrivaled attention to detail
  • You’re obsessive about good copy at every touchpoint and will proactively seek ways to improve and evolve. You’re able to flex from functional micro copy to social captions to long-form content pieces, and you understand how to adapt tone per channel
  • You communicate clearly and kindly, which helps you to build excellent relationships and get the best out of those around you
  • You’re a creative problem solver who is solutions-orientated and raises issues or unexpected problems early to ensure success
  • You’re a total team player and thrive working with others to create beautiful work to be proud of
  • 5+ years of copywriting experience, either in-house or in agency
  • Ideally, experience writing for ecommerce or D2C brands
  • Experience working collaboratively with creatives and designers to create work that is inspiring, engaging and delivers results
  • Experience in working with Figma to deliver copy within designs and collaborate with your team
  • Experience working with Asana (our project management too) would be a bonus

What the job involves

  • Our Brand & Creative team forms the creative core of bloomon
  • It is a team of 8 and is part of the Brand & Range team of 13 people
  • We’re responsible for our global brand strategy and creative output, and work with teams across the business in all markets to bring this to life
  • Within the Brand & Creative team we’re a dynamic bunch of creative thinkers spanning Creative, Copy/Content, Social and PR
  • We use customer insight and creative flair to build uplifting and innovative brand experiences for our customers and constantly challenge ourselves to do better
  • We are one team with Range who develop and design our physical products ranges across categories - from bouquets to small gifts
  • We collaborate closely with Customer Insight to inform our thinking, with the Commercial team to ensure our plans resonate in their local markets, and with our Digital Product and Design teams on our website and app
  • We design and create almost everything in-house and are passionate about who we are as a brand and how we show up in the world - and we love seeing bloomon grow, so we work at a fast pace, pouring joy and care into everything we do
  • You’ll be the voice of bloomon as the most senior native Dutch copywriter within the Creative team, ensuring all brand copy from product descriptions to big campaign moments are beautifully written and aligned to our tone of voice
  • You’ll champion creativity across the business, bringing new perspectives, challenging the norm and pushing boundaries
  • You’ll lead and contribute to idea workshops, encouraging creative thinking and helping to refine ideas in alignment with our brand values
  • You’ll collaborate with our Creative team to deliver best-in-class brand storytelling, marrying visuals and copy to create exciting, innovative concepts
  • You’ll write excellent creative copy and own briefs as well as overseeing and signing off copy work of the more junior team members
  • You’ll be pivotal in developing our market-specific propositions and be able to understand and incorporate market nuances, unique selling propositions (USPs), and cultural differences to create impactful and relevant content for commercial success
  • You’ll proactively and continually look for improvements in our brand copy - helping to improve the bloomon customer experience at every touchpoint
  • Your words will touch almost every area of the business so you’ll work cross-functionally with teams such as Product, Range, Digital Marketing, Commercial country marketing teams, B2B, and more
  • You’ll facilitate the translation and transcreation of your content, working closely with International freelance writers and our Country Marketing Teams to ensure content is effectively translated and adapted for each market to deliver results
  • You’ll adopt a test-and-learn mentality, working with relevant teams to design measurable copy tests to optimise and improve communications
  • You’ll help to define processes to effectively deliver quality creative in a fast-paced environment, as well as explore and implement AI tools to help improve results and deliver at scale

Our take

Bloom & Wild is an online flower delivery platform supplying a modern approach for sending flowers to loved ones. Its product approach is to sell flowers as bouquets, with smaller bouquets being able to fit through a typical UK mail slot in a small box, making it extremely easy to deliver.

The company operates across a number of countries, including Germany, France, Austria, and the Netherlands. It has utilised its two acquired businesses - Netherlands-based Bloomon, and French competitor Bergamotte - to expand the range of products it offers and reach new customers. It also launched a subscription service for consumers purchasing flowers for their own homes.

Expanding beyond its digital roots, Bloom & Wild has experimented with physical retail concepts - most notably its launch in Sainsbury’s stores. On top of international expansion, significant funding, and a unique concept, the company has become a recognised brand and surely positioned itself for a bright future.
