What the job involves

  • We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our product team to help deliver solutions to Expedia B2B partners. The role will involve working with various teams across Expedia Group to ensure our partners have access to the world’s best supply and travel experience
  • As a Senior Product Manager at Expedia Group, you will orchestrate the development of cutting-edge travel products, harmonizing innovative solutions with user needs to solidify the company’s market leadership
  • You'll mentor teams, integrate AI/ML advancements, and lead cross-functional efforts to actualize a data-informed, customer-centric product strategy
  • Your expertise will drive the creation of strategic roadmaps, foster influential stakeholder relationships, and elevate the travel experience through meticulous execution and visionary leadership
  • Lead the crafting of a comprehensive vision for the product portfolio, ensuring a clear and persuasive narrative that addresses customer and business needs. Develop and defend a strategic roadmap that links key outcomes to delivery milestones
  • Mentor junior Product Managers to bolster their technical acumen, ensuring their contributions are informed and impactful. Spearhead AI/ML initiatives, fostering knowledge sharing between technical and business teams to drive innovation
  • Navigate Expedia Group’s organizational landscape to build influential relationships and advocate for strategic product decisions. Drive profitability through sound decision-making and accurate business impact projections
  • Utilize advanced research techniques to garner strategic market insights that influence product direction. Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a compelling product value proposition and execute go-to-market strategies
  • Lead the optimization of end-to-end user journeys, ensuring that design decisions align with financial viability and user needs. Drive innovative design thinking to enhance product discovery and design processes
  • Set and review product performance metrics aligned with the product vision. Guide teams in advanced data analysis to inform strategic product decisions
  • Influence the prioritization of activities, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals. Maintain high-quality product specifications and lead cross-functional teams to meet ambitious project milestones
  • Manage complex stakeholder dynamics, driving consensus and successful outcomes for cross-functional product initiatives. Foster an inclusive and high-performing team environment through effective mentorship

They enable users to access a wide range of services including airline tickets, hotel reservations, car rentals, cruises, vacation packages, and various attractions and services via the world wide web and telephone travel agents. Its primary web businesses include Expedia.com, Hotels.com, Hotwire.com, and Egencia.com.

Between 2021 and 2022, Expedia has been selling and merging a list of its sub-brands in a bid to simplify its operations, including Egencia and Classic Vacations. Due to plummeting share prices, mostly in the case of its sub-brands, Expedia has been leveraging its subsidiaries' customer base and merging them into the company’s core brand. Contrasting this move, Expedia has also been partnering with tech start-ups in a bid to make travel more accessible to underserved groups. Becoming Rentable, a travel company for the disabled is one of 12 startups that are part of Expedia Group’s new Open World Accelerator Programme.

What this indicates is Expedia’s shift from buying other travel companies and a move towards enhancing the experience of its preexisting customer base. This move is aiding in a long-term plan for greater long-term traveler loyalty, utilizing Expedia’s vast amounts of data, not just from reviews, but from check-in, cleanliness, communication, cancelations, etc to inform how guests experience a property.
