Our take

The Hut Group (THG) is an online retailing platform focused on fast moving consumer goods, specifically in the health and beauty space. Built on a foundation of industry-leading technology, a world-class team and a scientific approach to building global brands, The Hut Group aspires to become the world’s most influential online retail organisation.

THG operates over 100 websites that sell premium, non-perishable FMCG direct to consumer via the company's in-house technology and operating platform. The Hut Group owns its own websites, warehousing systems and a delivery network and earns money licensing this technology to other businesses. The THG's founder, Matthew Moulding, built a business model based on buying brands and then consolidating them into the company's operations, allowing cost savings across the group.

The Hut Group acquired a number of brands during the last year including haircare beauty retailer Christophe Robin. They also signed a technology agreement with Nestlé and, most recently, exchanged contracts with Manchester Airport to develop “THQ” and its own airline.
