Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of professional experience in software development with React and Typescript
- Professional experience working with Flutter or any other modern cross-platform framework is a big plus
- Passion for architecting, building, and scaling cloud-based systems, serving millions of users
- Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks
- Experience in architecting Cloud Native solutions, AWS is a plus
- Worked in multi-functional teams
- Believe in self-aligned teams and "you build it, you run it" philosophy
- Experience in building AI/ML-enabled products is a plus
What the job involves
- As an engineer in our team, you'll be collaborating closely with colleague engineers and SREs, the product team, data scientists, and an engineering manager while building one of the newest distributed systems we have in the company.
- Our systems are built with Python, Kotlin, or Golang and they run on AWS, frontend is built using React, but we have some systems that use Vue. Mobile Applications are written on Kotlin, and Swift, and the new trend is to use Flutter as the main framework for the mobile application
- Take part in the planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects
- Serve as the primary entry point for all front-end related tasks for the team
- Be prepared to contribute to mobile applications written in Flutter as well as other front-end tasks
- Be an integral part of the team and establish credibility through the quality of your own and your team’s technical execution
- Encourage the team to innovate, invent, implement, and deploy complex software solutions
- Ask questions, brainstorm, and take ownership of the product we are building
- Work closely with the product management team to ensure we’re building the best products for our users

OLX group started as an alternative to Craigslist outside the US and has since ridden the wave of classifieds, e-commerce and marketplaces to become one the most prominent web platforms in the world.
Over 300 million people use an OLX group website every month. The company has managed to reach this level primarily through the acquisition and integration of emerging marketplaces that typically delight customers with their easy-use and quality range.
The company is now deepening its M&A strategy by integrating further marketplaces and inventories on behalf of its largest platforms, like OLX Autos. The business has already done $1B of revenue since operation.
While some brands have been flying high, others like the Russian-based Avito have become liabilities. Navigating these fluctuations in the fortunes of its ever growing portfolio of brands will continue to pose the biggest challenge for the group.
