Who you are
- Deep Knowledge of infrastructure management (AWS / Google Cloud, Kubernetes, or equivalent on-premises technologies)
- Experience in building large-scale, distributed analytics data processing systems (OLAP) and/or building infrastructure for Machine learning pipelines, feature and data stores, and model monitoring
- Experience in tuning system performance, efficiency, reliability
- Minimum 12 years of experience
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent areas
- Preferably Hybrid with 1 - 2 times a week in our Palo Alto office or Remote on the West Coast
- Technical skills
- Proficiency with Python, Celery, RabbitMQ, Postgres, Grafana, JIRA
- Experience with a Clickhouse database is nice to have
- A deep understanding of Machine learning is not required but is nice to have
- Someone who values and enjoys mentoring and coaching junior team members
- Deep knowledge of engineering best practices and experience scaling an enterprise engineering organization
What the job involves
- Shape the technical roadmap for core parts of the product and the underlying infrastructure
- Partner with our product and customer-facing teams to enhance and expand our offering and identify new functionalities and opportunities we should target
- Design and build a world-class cloud platform to help enterprises monitor and analyze their ML models. Scale the platform to process billions of inference events per day and handle state-of-the-art complex ML models (e.g large language models)
- Design enterprise-grade, scalable APIs and flexible integrations to plug into customers’ ML workflows
- Recommend and implement engineering best practices across the entire engineering organization, improve the functionality of existing software, and ensure that the design, application, and maintenance of our software meets quality standards
- Take an active role in building a world-class engineering team. Coach, mentor and support the engineers across the company

AI and machine learning are having a growing influence on how organizations make decisions. The problem with AI technology is that it's a black box. Companies are unable to know the inner workings of how they interpret data and arrive at their outcomes. It's not like traditional software, where a developer can check its code and figure it out.
Fiddler AI believes there's a need for a new type of explainable AI platform. It provides insights to customers so they see and understand how a particular system is making predictions. Plus, how those models can then be changed if bias is suspected. This increases trust and transparency in the technology.
Building trust in a market that is forecasted to grow over 30% per annum and reach a valuation of nearly $300 billion by 2026 is a smart move. It's no surprise that Fiddler AI already works with several of the largest banking institutions in the U.S., as well as online brands like Etsy.
Although, the complexities in AI will never go away. Maintaining high performance will always be challenging. Fiddler AI announced an investment from Alteryx in April 2023, vital financing for the need to fend off competitors such as Reflektion, Conviva, Rais, and Convr.
