Role
Who you are
- Deep experience with commercial contracts, including review and negotiation of master subscription agreements, NDAs, DPA’s and all types of amendments
- 4+ years of in-house contracts management experience, including experience with a SaaS or other technology company
- Cross-functional experience working with stakeholders (including Finance, Deal Desk, Security or Privacy) on contract requirements
- Prolific documenter of processes, business rules, FAQ’s, and other supporting documentation for internal and external consumption
- Strong familiarity with contract management systems (preferably Ironclad)
- Ability to draft and negotiate a broad range of inbound and outbound agreements
- The ability to issue spot and assess legal risks and communicate both to business partners in straight forward terms (non-legalese)
- A proactive, can-do approach to contract review, focused on practical solutions and out-of-the-box thinking
- Excellent bedside manner with internal and external clients is essential
- A belief and practice that no task is too big or too small
- A customer service orientation and attention to detail
- Curiosity that drives a desire to learn new contexts and communication styles
- Comfort with fast-paced environments and openness to change

- We’re looking for a detail-oriented Contracts Specialist to join our global SaaS company and growing Legal team
- This person will be a key team player supporting our rapidly growing go-to-market team, and can be based remotely, or out of either our Oakland or Denver offices (preferred)

- Review high volume of customer order forms in various stages of negotiation. Working collaboratively with Commercial Legal attorneys, Deal Desk, Finance and other stakeholders to ensure that order forms are being processed in accordance with internal controls in a timely manner
- Experienced with commercial contracts, including review, revision and negotiation of master subscription agreements, NDA's, DPA’s and all types of amendments
- Assist with due diligence and compliance responsibilities relating to the Commercial Legal function
- Respond to a range of questions, and provide support to business partners, regarding Fivetran’s commercial contracts, negotiating positions, and related processes
- Help build and maintain contracting playbooks, contract templates and clause libraries, legal process wikis, training materials, and other tools to help scale the legal function
- Lead or assist with projects to increase the efficiency of the commercial legal function
- The ability to thrive in an ever-changing environment that’s filled with ambiguity and to independently manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Other special projects given your interest areas and the needs of a rapidly scaling company & team

Customers are mostly data analysts at companies with inefficient database schema, who suffer from a high risk of project failures. Fivetran offers rapid integration of complex data services into cloud warehouses, tagging onto the trend towards cloud-based data systems.
By developing and continuously improving cloud applications that adapt to changing APIs and data schemas, Fivetran is attracting customers who seek long-term data viability. Fivetran also benefits from being easy to set up and integrate into a client's existing software.
After acquiring HVR, a data integration competitor, and Teleport Data, Fivetran continues to add functionality and customers via acquisition. A round of funding in 2023 paved the way for expansion into European and Asian markets.
