To create a future where humans play by the same rules as nature.

Role

Who you are

  • Scientific or Mathematic academic background
  • Python development
  • Data handling
  • Statistics
  • Beneficial: Product management skills, such as user experience and user research

What the job involves

  • As an intern at Alice & Bob, you will work in close relation with engineers and physicists involved in cutting-edge qubit experiments
  • During this internship you will be supporting the Product Team. One mission for the team is to improve the R&D process of the company. Such improvement is done through creating and deploying procedures to accelerate first scientific measurements on our chips
  • Work directly with the PM in charge of the database hosting our scientific measurements on chips
  • Leverage this data to create and benchmark procedures that should simplify measurements
  • Deploy the validated procedure into the R&D pipeline

Otta's take

CEO of Otta

Creating top-tier quantum hardware, including qubits and control electronics, presents a significant hurdle for those pursuing high-power quantum computing. Various qubit technologies exist, each boasting unique advantages and drawbacks, with the most recent research in the sector involving the pursuit of a scalable, fault-tolerant qubit technology.

Joining this pursuit is Alice & Bob, a company specialising in "cat qubits". This technology, named for Schrodinger’s infamous cat, is able to reduce hardware requirements, promising fault-tolerant quantum computing at scale. With over 90 employees and pioneering experimental results, Alice & Bob has notable achievements, including the development of its 16-bit Helium 1 quantum processing unit.

Recognised for its ground-breaking work, Alive & Bob recently received a hefty innovation grant that will support its work moving forwards. Through projects like "Cat Factory," in collaboration with academic partners, the company aims to optimise quantum computation infrastructure, making it more cost-effective and market-ready and ultimately building "the first universal quantum computer”.
