Who you are

  • You're a problem solver. We don't care if you're a year out of school or it's been twenty years since you graduated
  • You're a self-starter and get the startup grind. Work will be ambiguous at times but the challenge of finding order in the chaos and working autonomously if need be excites you. You are proactive and do not need to be micromanaged. In other words, this is not the kind of job where you show up and are told exactly what to do every day
  • You have experience with full-cycle recruiting and are comfortable stepping in to a startup as the first recruiting hire to take our system from 0 to 1: this includes sourcing, strategic ways to find all-star talent, scheduling and coordinating interviews, managing candidate resources, and communications, and helping the team make decisions on how to scale doola

What the job involves

  • Doola is looking to make its first recruiting hire to take on the challenge of rapidly growing our global company by hiring for critical roles in engineering, design, marketing, sales, operations, and more
  • Proven track record: You have a track record of prior success in a startup environment or an agency where you have been able to generate a pipeline and run recruiting end to end
  • Build processes: You enjoy creating order out of chaos and creating systems to take our recruiting from 0 to 1. The systems you build will help us scale from 10s to 100s and beyond
  • Manage the full cycle: You can see things through and aren't afraid to run the entire process independently. Your job will be to manage full-cycle recruiting for all open positions
  • Think strategically: Hiring is tougher than ever, and the top candidates will always have a plethora of options to choose from. How can we be unique and think strategically to engage, attract, and close the best talent globally? An all-star in this role will make this happen
  • Provide delight: First impressions matter and you will often times be the very first interaction with candidates. The same way we wow customers globally, we need to do the same for any candidate who takes the time to consider doola and provide them with a delightful and magical experience

This is partly driven by the US Census's project to generate millions of new business applications and by the rise of monetized content platforms like Twitch and Youtube. So far doola has been used to launch thousands of companies from 130 different countries, and the company is experiencing 7x year-on-year growth.

Between 2022 and 2024, Doola closed funding rounds amounting to $9 million, which are being used to hire new talent in product, engineering, and R&D, and extend its marketing reach. In the longer term, the company is aiming to provide a payments solution, utilising the extensive data it has gathered on startup operations to offer financial services that will supplement its core product.
