Company mission

To empower a diverse range of event creators by making it easy and affordable to sell tickets online.

Role

Who you are

  • You favour pragmatic, user-centric solutions over perfection or best practise
  • You strive for simplicity in your solutions and like to incrementally deliver small-pieces of long term value
  • You work from first-principles and design-first over copy-and-paste programming
  • You continually seek to maximise your impact in the work you deliver and how you manage your time
  • You enjoy ownership of small but meaningful projects and consider multiple stakeholders in your work
  • You see value in many types of testing, and want to work with Trunk Based Development, continually releasing small pieces of long term value to the platform
  • You’re equally happy collaborating with others and working on your own to solve deep complex problems in code
  • You value security, adopt a security mindset as you work, and ensure your squad follows secure practices
  • You enjoy constantly learning and have a growth mindset
  • You use or are curious about using AI to enhance your productivity and quality

What the job involves

  • We're looking for a Product Developer to join our growing technology team
  • You'll work on delivering great features to our users, while building and maintaining our ticketing platform
  • At Ticket Tailor our customers are our highest priority, and as a customer-centric company, you’ll focus on delighting our users over writing perfect code
  • You’ll will work on building and improving our Ticketing Platform, Dashboard and API. We're constantly evolving and growing our product, and you will work closely with our product team to deliver new features for our customer base. You'll be part of an established team of developers of all experience levels, meaning you're constantly learning and encouraged to share your own knowledge
  • We place a strong emphasis on ownership - we each own the tasks we deliver - from understanding the problem, to designing small blocks of long term value, to the quality of the solution delivered. We test all new features and deploy multiple times a day
  • As a small team, you'll also have lots of opportunities to provide input into the wider technology decision making process, while sharing successes with the company

Application process

  • An initial discovery call to learn more about you (30 minutes)
  • A remote video interview with one of our tech leads, Emma, to discuss your technical background in more depth (60 Minutes)
  • A take-home tech test in any language of your choice (up to 3 hours)
  • An on-site workshop consisting of a systems design exercise, chat with the product team and culture interview (usually around 3 hours)

Our take

Ticket Tailor is a ticketing platform that offers event organisers a simple way to manage event registration and sell tickets online. The platform includes features beyond ticket selling, for example allowing ticket sellers to customise the buying experience to match their website, accept payments directly to their account, and own their customer data.

As opposed to other similar platforms, Ticket Tailor doesn’t take a percentage of the ticket price. Instead, it offers flexible payment plans with no contracts. Its commitment to support event creators is shown by its free offering for free events, and its deals that give 50% off for charities, and 20% off for B-corps and PTAs.

Ticket Tailor prides itself on being completely independent, with no investors, and boasts B Corp certification since May 2022. Since launch, it has helped promoters and venues sell over 20 million tickets across the globe, being used by thousands of event organisers all around the world.
