Our take
Clue is a femtech app built to offer a tech-based birth control method by tracking the fertility cycle. The company aims to encourage women and people with cycles to understand their bodies through its user-friendly app that offers in-depth information about their health.
Clue differentiates itself through its use of science to provide users with actionable insights regarding their health. Furthermore, it calculates fertility windows based on global averages instead of ovulation data, which makes its results more accurate. The company continues to collaborate with scientists and universities in order to ensure the product is as accurate as possible.
Clue also continues to focus on raising awareness about the importance of tracking periods and ovulation for health and family planning and, with an increasing amount of research being done in this space, is well-positioned for further growth. The company has not been immune from wider economic effects, and cut its staff early in 2023, though this was followed with a successful fundraise that will enable it to expand its product portfolio, scale its digital family planning offering, and invest in research.
