  • Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan
  • Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses

What the job involves

  • We are seeking a Finance Manager to help Ads Marketing drive adoption across Amazon’s portfolio of advertising solutions that help small- and medium-sized businesses (SMB) engage with shoppers and optimize sales of their products
  • This role will lead support for Ads Regional SMB Marketing teams as they strive to grow our advertising business outside of the United States
  • As Finance Manager, you will work independently and cross-organizationally to deliver results in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment
  • Many assignments will be ambiguous and require a highly insightful, intellectually curious self-starter with good judgement who can assess situations through multiple lenses including the Amazon shopper, advertising customer, internal business owner, and financial investor
  • This role requires regular interaction with various leaders and stakeholders across Amazon Ads and Stores business units
  • Partner with regional Ads Marketing and Stores teams to strategize and evaluate business cases for new initiatives that support international Advertising growth
  • Track, assess, and forecast goals for key business metrics in an effort to generate insights and improve results
  • Deliver financial models, analyses, and narratives to support investment decisions
  • Support return-on-investment analysis by identifying, measuring, reporting, and forecasting revenue driven by Marketing activities and initiatives
  • Manage and execute projects from start to finish including data gathering, analysis, stakeholder management, and clear communication of insights and recommendations
  • Budget controllership, financial reporting, and ad hoc business support across various work-streams

On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
