Company mission

Scalable Capital's mission is to provide people with professional, intelligent, and at the same time cost-effective solutions for wealth creation, trading and investing.

Role

Who you are

  • You successfully completed a banking apprenticeship or a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent
  • You gained fundamental experience in securities services, brokerage or asset management; prior involvement in a bank’s middle or back office is a plus
  • You are knowledgeable about securities and banking processes, such as taxation processes related to corporate actions, securities transfers, on-exchange trading and interest payments
  • You already worked in a time-sensitive environment and proved that you are able to balance competing priorities while maintaining high quality standards
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You are fluent in German and English (written and spoken)

What the job involves

  • You will own all processes around withholding taxes such as daily reconciliation and settlement to actively contribute towards flawless financial services
  • You will provide detailed tax event analyses of our retails business to set the foundation for problem solving, decision making and taking corrective action
  • You will support the team by creating concepts to optimise processes related to capital gains tax, church tax, solidarity surcharge and financial transaction taxes and collaborate with internal stakeholders
  • You will perform annual tests of tax certificate calculations and prepare corresponding internal trainings for client facing entities
  • You will be responsible for identification and communication of legislative changes and subsequently support implementation of these changes to comply with regulatory requirements

Our take

Interest around investing in digital assets is increasing steadily due to innovations in fintech smartphone applications and the popularity of blockchain finance such as cryptocurrency. While stocks and cryptocurrency have a lot to do with this increase in popularity, it has also led to new investors learning about ETFs and index funds, meaning more people are looking for easier ways to invest.

Scalable Capital provides a free smartphone application for the investing and trading of stocks, cryptocurrencies, commission-free ETFs, and index funds, with subscription fees providing commission-free stock trading. The application also features a machine learning-driven robotrading service called Smart Predict to aid in improving users' limit and stop orders.

Whilst several other European investment platforms focus on commission-free trading, Scalable Capital has taken a fresh perspective by focusing on providing commission-free ETF investment. By doing this, the company encourages smart long-term ETF investments over riskier day-trading, tapping into a more mature market than applications focused on stocks. With further growth expected in 2024 after impressive Series E funding, Scalable Capital is carving out its market share.
