Company mission

Warp's mission is to re-create the command line as a modern app, making a more usable, humane and, ultimately, more powerful CLI for everyone.

Role

Who you are

  • You have passion for learning more about the terminal and developer tools
  • You experiment and double down on the experiments that work. You like quickly validating concepts through MVPs
  • You are willing to roll up your sleeves to do all things necessary to make an early-stage startup successful

Desirable

  • You have experience coding
  • You are an ex- or aspiring- founder type who is interested in how to take a product that developers love and get it in front of more people
  • You have worked in the developer tools space before
  • You have experience with Webflow, Metabase, Ahrefs, Customer.io, Segment, or similar tools

What the job involves

  • You will report to the Growth Lead, and be part of the Growth team. You will work closely with our Product Marketing Manager and Developer Advocate. You will have support from our SEO specialist and Growth Marketing specialist
  • These are the areas you’ll get to drive…
  • Strategic partnerships
  • We have begun to work with companies and influential developers to bring Warp to their audiences. What other tools, open-source projects, or organizations work well with Warp? What are some creative ways we can work with them?
  • Content strategy
  • Our blog has reached wide audiences on HackerNews (e.g. here) and Reddit (e.g. here). But we're still in the early stages; what themes should we be writing about? How do we drive conversion? How do we leverage our community to write content for us?
  • We have begun some SEO work that has answered some of developers’ top questions and that’s been driving thousands of visits a month. What else should we try?
  • Viral growth loops and creative special projects
  • We are constantly on the lookout for creative ways to create growth loops for our users. From Spotify Wrapped to theme contests, you can try any project that incentivizes users to spread Warp to other users
  • As your programs succeed and the company grows, there will also be opportunities to:
  • Attract qualified leads for eventual paid conversion
  • Build a team to scale out growth loops that you have proven successful
  • Team up with the Product team to build out an ecosystem of extensions and integrations

Our take

Despite the growing importance of coding, coding terminals have been underserved by innovation in recent years. Warp solves this problem by developing and delivering a cutting-edge command-line terminal.

Warp is made up of former Google, Adobe and Dropbox developers who have identified the need for a modernized coding terminal. Warp's Rust-based terminal improves productivity and efficiency among developers without sacrificing security. For this reason, Warp is now trusted by some of tech's most prolific developers, including Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff.

Warp is working hard to bring its app to a number of operating systems, which will allow it to scale its customer base further. This will be vital if the company is to gain a headstart against other terminal developers.
