Who you are
- Built and maintained frontend libraries
- Expert in Front-end JavaScript/TypeScript
- Ability to take ideas through to delivery
- Worked on complex frontend applications
Desirable
- Worked on micro-frontend and microservice architectures
- Contributed to open-source projects
- Experience with live operations and monitoring frontend applications
- Familiar with test frameworks such as Jest, TestCafe, and WebdriverIO
- Desire to learn AWS and work on backend services (we’ll support you with this)!
What the job involves
- As a software engineer in the Core Services team, you'll be working on some of the most important services at DAZN
- We're looking for a versatile Frontend engineer who can wear many hats to join our Core Services team
- You'll be heads-down in code, writing new functionality for our frontend libraries
- You'll be helping to plan the future of our services and communicating with our stakeholders across the business. Reliability is essential to our team, and we're also fast-paced and pragmatic
- You’ll get the opportunity to work on our backend services too, if you wish
- You'll join us on our regular chaos testing sessions and learn how our services perform during failures
- Maintain libraries and services which are essential to DAZN’s platform
- Write “vanilla” frontend code – we don’t use frameworks (React/Angular) in this team as we don’t render anything
- Collaborate on the future of our services and architecture
- Learn from, and share your knowledge with, your teammates and the wider company
- Embrace our “You build it – you own it” culture and provide operational support for our services
- Work with our tech stack – JS, TS, WebSockets, AWS, and more (ask us about this!)

Our take
DAZN is a sports streaming subscription service providing full coverage of every game in a league, with commentary from the home country it’s being shown in.
Referred to as the "Netflix of sport", DAZN has pursued an aggressive strategy of buying up popular, undervalued sports rights and has emerged quickly into new markets since launching in 2016. This meant it was able to monopolise the television rights for combat sports like boxing and NFL. It now streams nearly 1 billion hours of live sport every year.
The company is also boosted by its sizeable B2B activities, which includes providing streaming and data to other sports broadcasters, betting firms and publishers. DAZN also owns Goal.com, a football website with 100 million users, and Opta, a well-known sports analytics company.
