Role
Who you are
- We’re looking for someone who’s curious, proactive, and who is excited to dive in and immediately play a critical role impacting company-level strategic priorities
- 10+ years in Data Science or Machine Learning
- Expertise with Python/R and SQL
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proven track record of developing and deploying successful machine learning models in a production environment
Desirable
- Previous experience working in the fintech space
- Experience in building ML-based lead scoring models
- Previous startup experience
- Experience with bookkeeping or taxes and how it relates to self-employment
What the job involves
- We’re a small but experienced team that has worked on diverse and complex problems at companies like Uber, Netflix, and Spotify. We’re excited to bring on another member to our team to enhance our Data Science and ML capabilities
- You’ll start by collaborating with our growth team to develop models to better target high-value users, personalize their experiences, and improve ROI on our paid marketing spend and account management hours
- From there, you’ll expand your scope to address problems across the company, leveraging your expertise in data science and machine learning to identify and implement data-driven solutions across several cross-functional areas
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models to predict user value, personalize user experiences, and drive growth
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, growth, and engineering, to identify new opportunities to solve business problems and improve user outcomes
- Communicate complex machine learning concepts and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Research novel techniques and best practices to parse large, diverse data sets
- Contribute to the development of best practices, standards, and frameworks for machine learning at Found
- Provide mentorship and guidance to help grow and develop the skills of the broader data team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence

Traditionally, freelancers have been burdened with the need to juggle multiple tools and solutions to handle their bookkeeping, invoices, and tax responsibilities. In response to this challenge, Found was established with a mission to simplify financial management for the self-employed, providing them with precious time, cost savings, and peace of mind.
Established by two former Square executives with experience in payroll and SaaS solutions, Found functions as a financial hub for freelancers. It enables users to seamlessly manage their finances by offering services such as income deposits, the issuance of dedicated company debit cards, and tax calculations. Additionally, Found equips freelancers with real-time business insights and streamlines the process of making quarterly tax payments.
As the gig economy continues to thrive, the number of self-employes individuals has seen remarkable growth in recent years. In light of this trend, Found is dedicated to capitalizing on the opportunity by expanding its marketing efforts and enhancing its product offerings. Through these strategic moves, Found aims to further support its ever-growing customer base.
