Who you are
- MS/Phd with focus in robotics or a similar technical field of study, and/or equivalent practical experience
- Solid background and knowledge of autonomous system decision-making and behavioral planning concepts (state machines, etc.)
- 3+ years of industry experience as an autonomous vehicle or robotics software engineering professional including hands-on implementation and tuning on hardware
- 3+ years industry experience writing C++ software in a production environment - architecture design, unit testing, code review, algorithm performance trade-offs, etc
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
Desirable
- Experience with concepts in motion planning and/or experience implementing trajectory planners on HW
- Experience working with ROS to design, build, and operate robotic systems
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience with data-driven/machine learning methods for autonomous system decision-making
- Exposure to modern software development version control and project management tools - Git, Jira, etc

- Design, implement, and tune autonomous vehicle decision-making/behavioral planning algorithms in C++
- Develop tooling and metrics for performance validation and continuous testing frameworks
- Contribute to simulation models for root causing issues and regression testing software releases
- Balance project tasks, code reviews, and research to meet product-driven milestones in a fast-paced startup environment
