What the job involves

  • You will be part of the core team that will be building the Amazon Shipping Operations mid to long term strategy by working as a single threaded leader on both strategic and tactical special projects
  • You will help design and shape the EU SWA Ops strategy, engaging and influencing multiple stakeholders to build a shipping service provider which our customers love
  • You will have a true hands-on approach, understanding of operations, solid leadership skills and the ability to communicate and engage both internal and external stakeholders
  • As this position involves regular interaction with senior leadership (Directors, VPs), you need to be comfortable communicating robustly whilst also working directly with various functional teams and team members at all levels of the organization across the Amazon business
  • Lead all EU SWA Ops Special Projects. Be a Thought leader in your space and be the advocate and influencer of the business with peers and partner teams
  • Improve key operational metrics by building new processes and partnerships with the Biz, Product and Ops teams
  • Build the groundwork for the future growth and evolution of the Shipping operations by working on forward looking projects and initiatives. . Develop and implement an internal and external communications strategy for the team
  • Develop structural plans and routines to ensure all strategic and tactical programs are being delivered on schedule and to the standards expected

Despite its dominant market position, Amazon will continue to be challenged over the next decade, including sustaining AWS's cloud dominance in the face of Google and Microsoft. On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
