Who you are

  • Experience in a Data Product Management, Data Analytics or Data Analysis position
  • Experience in product management of data platforms, attribute stores and adjacent technologies
  • Comfortable exploring large datasets using SQL queries
  • Demonstrates a critical understanding of business processes & challenges, developing solutions to meet unique business needs
  • Naturally curious mind and appetite for creative & inventive problem solving
  • Able to effectively drive & evaluate idea creation of new ideas, methods, products and solutions that support the business

What the job involves

  • Product management – Implement and improve our data platform & products while working closely with our internal partners
  • Strategy – Translate business goals & OKRs into a product roadmap to ensure we're creating our platforms based on the highest value use cases
  • Data quality – Define rules & checks to ensure our data products offer the most reliable & trusted source of truth for lodging data
  • Support – Act as an internal consultant providing support across the organization, crafting easy to understand internal documentation & customer onboarding experience
  • Evangelize – Promote data products through roadshows, product reviews & product release communications to drive adoption

What this indicates is Expedia’s shift from buying other travel companies and a move towards enhancing the experience of its preexisting customer base. This move is aiding in a long-term plan for greater long-term traveler loyalty, utilizing Expedia’s vast amounts of data, not just from reviews, but from check-in, cleanliness, communication, cancelations, etc to inform how guests experience a property.
