SOJO's mission is to help in making the fashion industry circular.
Sam Franklin
CEO of Otta
Over 13 million items of clothing are thrown away every week in the UK, with many of these ending up in the landfill because of imperfections that could have been repaired. Moreover, the second-hand industry is currently not an option for many consumers because most of the time the clothes do not fit them perfectly, and altering them is a hassle.
Sojo is setting out to solve this problem by making clothing alterations and repairs easy and low cost through their app. With tailors operating in-house, users can organise a pick up time that suits them, digitalising the traditional tailoring industry. Having launched in 2021, Sojo already has thousands of sign ups and is developing partnerships with Oxwash, Beyond Retro, Ganni and Hurr.
After a successful launch in London, Sojo's next step is to expand across the UK. The startup is also aiming to expand internationally in the future and continue in developing new tools that will make sustainable fashion the preferred choice among fashion lovers.
