Role
Who you are
- Highly proficient in Swift 5+ and with general knowledge of at least one additional programming language
- Strong architectural knowledge and passion for writing clean, modular, and testable code
- Demonstrated UI/UX sensibility
- Experience with CoreData, RESTful APIs, and Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, AB Testing, Performance & Dynamic Links)
- Familiarity with automated testing (XCTest & XCUITest) and CI/CD (GitHub Actions & Fastlane)
- Have strong communicative skills to interact with other internal teams, such as our design team and customer care
- Are a result-driven professional who can deliver whilst playing with technology
- Are not just here to do your job but also to have a great time with your colleagues
Desirable
- Can show your contributions to open-source projects
- Have one or more apps published in the App Store
- Have experience with Android
- Have experience with feature flag-driven development and A/B testing
- Are familiar with mobile apps security best practices

What the job involves
- Collaborate with the product team to define, design, develop and ship new features
- Maintain and optimize existing features
- Enhance the architecture to be able to scale the app and the team efficiently
- Implement AB tests experiments to measure the impact of changes objectively
- Maintain our analytics and customer feedback systems to allow the business to make data-driven decisions
- Influence our design system with technical input
- Write automated tests to ensure quality
- Maintain and improve our CICD pipeline
- Manage the release process (TestFlight & App Store)
- Monitor stability and ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the app
- Keep up to date with the latest advances in mobile development

The retail investor market is growing, thanks to investment apps like Robinhood and E*TRADE democratising access to the markets and empowering non-professionals to make their money work. It’s stimulated the fintech startup scene globally, too, and whilst many are chasing the hands-on retail investors, a niche has opened up for ‘small change’ investment apps for the hands-off customer. Peaks is one of these, allowing users to round up card payments and automatically invest it.
These apps are great for early-stage, short term investors, even though they will tend to work out more costly in the long run. As such, they tend to be directed at young Gen X and the emerging Gen Z markets - and here’s where Peaks has smartly distinguished itself from competitors like Stash and Acorn. Peaks is a values-driven app which only permits investments in sustainable ETFs. This is likely to play well with the younger generations, who expressly seek out brands and companies with the kind of eco-friendly ethos that aligns with their beliefs.
