Role
Who you are
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally & domestically approximately 10-20%
- Experience in Design and Manufacturing Engineering roles for complex NPI product industrialization
- Experience with global contract manufacturers in bringing electromechanical systems from prototype to mass production
- Independent, self-starter with a strong ability to think strategically and execute tactically with persistent attention to detail
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills; presenting at all business levels
- B.S. Degree in Engineering; mechanical, manufacturing mechatronics, systems, or related field

Desirable
- Have experience with data visualization and statistical analysis tools (SQL, Tableau, JMP, Minitab, etc)
- Utilization of program/project management communication tools such as JIRA and Asana
- Have a desire to deeply understand system level interactions of complex electro-mechanical products
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings (GD&T) to define and evaluate product quality
What the job involves
- Join Formlabs if you want to bring groundbreaking professional 3D printers to the desktop of every designer, engineer, researcher, and artist in the world
- Drive manufacturing technical readiness as a critical member of NPI teams; collaborating directly with R&D teams to drive results from early prototype phases through project completion
- Drive DFM and DFA in support of product, system, and process design
- Establish industrialization and production readiness while collaborating globally with Formlabs teams, Contract Manufacturers, and Suppliers
- Ensure critical product specifications are addressed through critical processes and corresponding process control points
- Collaborate cross functionally on complex engineering and operational challenges
- Drive process control and issue prevention; implementing tools, equipment and process methods to ensure reliability and quality
- Drive optimization and continuous improvement using factory data to analyze process capabilities at Suppliers and Contract Manufacturers
Our take
Formlabs' founders met at MIT in 2011, and set about creating a company that would disrupt the 3D printing market. While the majority of the industry was experiencing a crash, Formlabs managed to buck the trend by implementing additive manufacturing (stereolithography) to a desktop form factor.
While many 3D printing manufacturers have tried in vain to market their hardware to home users, Formlabs has maintained a laser-sharp focus on serving the needs of professionals and large-scale companies such as Coke and Sony. Striving to keep costs low while maintaining an optimal user experience, the company has sold well over 100,000 printers.
With considerable funding at its back, Formlabs has continued to develop new solutions such as a series of mass manufacturing solutions that enable its customers to dramatically increase their 3D printing output. As the largest supplier of professional SLA and SLS 3D printers in the world, the company is well set to further its position and achieve further global growth.
