Company mission

Via's mission is to use technology to transform transport.

Role

Who you are

  • You have a minimum of 2 years of writing experience (either longform or short form), either from a previous job, school paper, or the like. Unique writing experiences such as a personal blog, published works, etc. are a plus
  • Able to quickly gain an understanding of Via’s product and audience personas in order to embody the Via voice and run with it. Deliver impactful messaging to the right person at the right time using the right channel
  • Familiar with modern CMS and email marketing platforms, and just as enthusiastic working with the technical tools to deliver your message as you are writing it
  • Comfortable working under tight or ever-evolving deadlines and capable of iterating quickly
  • Eager to receive edits and feedback
  • Easygoing and a natural team player
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing working conditions, whether remotely or on a hybrid in-person schedule at our NYC headquarters

What the job involves

  • Embody the Via voice and come up with creative new ways to bring it to life
  • Write copy for email and in-app communications as well as marketing collateral for riders and Driver Partners in the markets we are active in across the globe. This primarily includes developing marketing copy ahead of new service launches and creating engagement campaigns to meet the growth needs of these services
  • Learn the ropes of our various Content Management System (CMS) tools and become our in-house expert in building, scheduling, and sending campaigns
  • Support other members of the Marketing team with content needs, including case studies, blog posts, and partner-facing collateral
  • Help us think outside the box — are there communications channels we haven’t thought of? Are there ways we could be saying certain things in a more interesting way?
  • Serve as a key member of our social team, creating thoughtful content for LinkedIn, Twitter, and other social channels

Otta's take

Theo Margolius

COO of Otta

Via is a world-leading public mobility technology provider, transforming transportation and logistics systems into highly efficient digital networks. Its TransitTech platform powers cost-effective, convenient, and equitable mobility across the globe including public transport, student transport, corporate transport, and paratransit.

The company has two smart go-to-market strategies. First, it licenses the technology to cities wanting on-demand solutions. Secondly, it provides a full solution for operators (such as TfL) including technologies, operations, marketing, and data science. After acquiring Remix, a mapping and transit-planning tool, Via combined the software with its own on-demand transit data to help cities visualize how on-demand services can become part of the public transit system.

With hundreds of partnerships in place, and operating across the globe, Via is committed to revolutionizing the way the world moves. The company has stated plans to go public, but for now, seems focussed on expanding its services - for example with the wheelchair-accessible autonomous shuttle service it launched in partnership with May Mobility. Substantial funds will enable Via to expand its suite of products and improve its services, as well as innovate and accelerate expansion across markets and verticals.

Company values

  • Sharing - Sharing is a founding principle; it’s in our DNA. Sharing rides, yes (that one’s a no-brainer) but we’re also passionate about collaboration, resource and knowledge sharing, and even our successes and failures, too. We ride together, in all we do.
  • Equity - Transport is a great equaliser — it removes barriers to good jobs, quality healthcare, and educational opportunities for all. Where you live should not determine your economic mobility or overall quality of life.
  • Sustainability - Building sustainable cities means working towards a car-free future. And in the short term, getting people out of their single occupancy vehicles and switching to electric vehicles wherever possible.
  • AD&I - We’re committed to Anti-racism, Diversity, and Inclusion at Via, and in helping advance racial equity in transport systems and through policy. A diverse and inclusive workforce is proven to drive real business success, and we work towards our AD&I goals every day.
