Who you are
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience

What the job involves
- Build integrations to healthcare and financial systems
- Automate end-to-end ingestion and data delivery pipelines with an eye towards observability and data quality
- Create robust integrations with partner health care systems by thinking through and intentionally addressing failure modes upfront
- Build production-level machine learning products
- Produce features in both our PySpark offline training pipeline and online serving API
- Help the team train and test our models on billions of data points in reasonable wall clock and CPU time
- Continuously measure model performance drift and automate the mitigation strategies
- Maintain our tight API latency SLAs while executing dozens of predictions per HTTP request
- Expect the unexpected and build system designed to deal with bad input and unreliable networks
- Build well tested, reusable tools to accelerate our research and development efforts

The most serious healthcare problem faced by most Americans is affordability. In fact, a 2022 poll by the Kaiser Family Foundation found that about half of US adults report difficulties affording health care costs, with roughly four in ten delaying or avoiding medical care due to cost.
One big issue affecting the affordability of healthcare is how payments are handled. Billions is lost every year to avoidable denials and payment errors, with patients ending up with increased costs as a result - which is what Anomaly sets out to fix.
The company partners with healthcare companies to build novel technology to reduce friction in healthcare payments. Its key product, Smart Response, uses AI to identify and correct avoidable claim errors before they are processed by the payer, so that providers and patients can avoid expensive denials before they occur.
Boasting over 97% precision, Anomaly's AI claim prediction engine is the foundation of its value. Working alongside what it calls "forward-thinking" payers and providers, the company is moving ahead towards it vision of more streamline healthcare payments, with the potential to have a positive effect on the lives of patients throughout the country.
