- At least 8 years of industry experience as a software engineer
- Led initiatives to improve developer experience & resolve infrastructure challenges related to scale, reliability, and performance
- Served as a technical lead for large projects (6+ months in length), including defining the roadmap for complex projects spanning multiple teams and functions
- Built successful SaaS product foundations for both startup and enterprise users

- Experience working at rapidly scaling startups and large companies, especially with environments that prioritize a bias for action

- As a Staff Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for identifying key strategic technical initiatives that impact our entire engineering team and deliver significant value to our business
- You will set a high bar for engineering culture and excellence, and your past experience will be leveraged to enable and accelerate Vanta’s growth
- Our Staff Software Engineers identify key strategic technical initiatives, deliver significant value to our customers and business, and set the tone for engineering excellence and culture
- In this role focused on Core Platform, you’ll build solid infrastructure foundations and high-leverage developer tools that enable Vanta’s engineering teams to quickly create and improve high-quality products
- Identify, scope, and lead large technical projects related to our build system, developer workflows / experience, and key infrastructure and services
- Lead design reviews and communicate constraints to ensure we are making the right trade-offs
- Pave the path for new critical infrastructure, enabling us to stay ahead of continued rapid growth
- Design, develop, and own new product functionality and infrastructure leveraging modern frameworks and tooling (TypeScript, Terraform, Node.js)
- Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation
- Act as a cultural beacon, setting an example for effective, collaborative engineering and helping mentor junior team members

The security auditing process is usually very time-consuming, taking hours to complete, and it is often difficult for start-ups to invest time into such a process. Yet, the benefits of security accreditation are enormous, mainly as many such businesses are working globally and need ways to demonstrate security compliance to one another. Vanta works specifically with start-ups to help them complete and pass security audits such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
The company is a compliance portal and security monitoring platform that businesses use to assess their risk levels. Vanta carries out a pre-audit of a company's digital security and highlights areas that need to be worked on before a full analysis of all threats is carried out. Other businesses such as Datadog or PagerDuty offer similar security monitoring services, but Vanta monitors its customers throughout the year, allowing any issues to be identified and addressed early on.
Vanta has found a valuable cybersecurity niche within the giant SaaS market. Companies such as Lattice, Clubhouse, and Calm are all customers, demonstrating a growing trend for companies to manage their cybersecurity proactively, which Vanta should be able to take advantage of to further grow and develop into the future.
