What the job involves

  • We are looking for a Strategic Account Development Executive for the Platform Outside Sales team to establish partnerships and sell a new exciting product to merchants across the country
  • You’ll report into our sales leadership, you'll have direct access to all you'll need to grow your career to the next level
  • This is a hybrid role with some time traveling in the region meeting with merchants and some time remote
  • In addition, this role will require the ability to travel as needed for in-person collaboration through training, offsites, team-building events, and other business related necessity
  • Run your end-to-end sales process, with sales discovery and complex pipeline management skills
  • Accelerate a highly organized sales cycle with the goal of closing deals within a few weeks
  • Engage with strategic decision makers, including C-suite, VPs, and business owners, while using data to tell a compelling story
  • Master our service offerings — address merchant issues by solving problems and applying product knowledge to win deals while sharing learnings with leadership to develop solutions improving the merchant and customer experience
  • Lead complex negotiations to structure industry-leading and mutually beneficial economic terms
  • Collaborate alongside multiple teams — work with our Sales Managers, Partner Management, as well central functions to extract the most value possible from our top accounts

DoorDash was an early entrant into the last-mile restaurant delivery business, which is now crowded with the likes of Uber Eats, Postmates and GrubHub. They offer restaurants an end-to-end delivery platform, generating new business and access to a network of delivery drivers.

To differentiate itself in the market, DoorDash focused on areas with fewer competitors and found success in this untapped market. Despite this, by focusing on consumer retention, logistics and technology, the company is likely able to maintain its existing growth and revenue.
