Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate for the Lead Backend Software Engineer role at XYZ Reality will possess a deep passion for building sophisticated software systems, a dedication to engineering craftsmanship, and an unwavering commitment to quality
- Degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field of study
- Excellent Java and Python programming skills
- 8+ years of solid and proven experience with server-side Java, concurrency handling, and distributed systems
- Extensive experience working with Java frameworks, REST API integrations, and team management
- Strong background in architecture and product definition, demonstrating viability
- Basic knowledge of JavaScript, relevant JS framework and Python
- Proven experience in production deployment and development of Java-based infrastructures
- Database knowledge, preferably with relational and NoSQL databases
- Understanding of Azure Cloud development, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Proficiency in documenting code and systems with concise overviews and guides
- Ability to plan and estimate tasks, ensuring timely delivery of work
- Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English
- Bonus: Knowledgeable about construction BIM standards

- We're seeking a Lead Backend Software Engineer who is passionate about software development and eager to grow within a dynamic team
- Develop components of our server-side stack using technologies like Java, MongoDB, MySQL, or NodeJS
- Define scope, level of effort, schedule estimates, and technical specifications aligned with the product roadmap
- Lead initiatives to enhance our engineering culture and shared backend framework
- Act as a hands-on team lead, setting high standards for engineering results
- Work in a highly practical Research-and-Development and product-driven culture
- Willingness to learn new technologies and contribute to other areas within the company when needed
