Who you are
- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred
- Experience: Minimum 10-15 years of experience in IT and cybersecurity, with 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Technical Skills: Extensive experience in IT, cybersecurity, and infrastructure management. Proficiency in cybersecurity tools, technologies, and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
- Industry Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, and other relevant IT and cybersecurity certifications
- Leadership Qualities: Proven experience in leading and managing IT and security teams. Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and execute IT and security strategies aligned with organizational goals.Experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and budget management
- Business Acumen: Strong business acumen and understanding of the company's industry, market, and competitive landscape. A forward thinker with a startup commercial mindset with strong IT controls

What the job involves
- AlphaSense is seeking a Vice President (VP) of Corporate IT & Security to ensure the security, efficiency, and effectiveness of our information technology (IT) infrastructure, systems, and data
- The VP of Corporate IT & Security will safeguard our digital assets, drive IT innovation and efficiency, and ensure alignment between IT and business objectives
- Develop and implement comprehensive information security policies, procedures, and standards to protect the organization's data and information assets
- Monitor and assess potential security risks and vulnerabilities, and implement measures to mitigate them
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices related to information security
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and storage systems
- Ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of IT infrastructure to meet the organization's current and future needs
- Implement and manage cloud computing strategies and solutions, as applicable
- Ensure successful compliance audits across SOC2, ISO and others that are typical for public companies
- Lead the organization's cybersecurity efforts, including the development and implementation of cybersecurity programs, technologies, and controls
- Coordinate incident response and management in the event of a cybersecurity breach or incident
- Foster a culture of cybersecurity awareness and training among employees
- Develop and execute the organization's IT strategy and roadmap in alignment with its business objectives and goals
- Identify and prioritize IT initiatives and projects that deliver the greatest value to the organization
- Ensure effective governance, budgeting, and resource allocation for IT projects and initiatives
- Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with IT vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure quality, value, and compliance with contractual agreements
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with vendors to optimize costs and service delivery
- Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies that facilitate efficiency and competitive advantage
- Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the organization's ability to recover from IT disruptions and maintain business operations
- Conduct regular testing and drills of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to validate their effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing IT and security team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and capabilities
- Deploy productivity tools including the latest generative AI tools for typical IT/Security and support activities
- Collaborate with executive leadership, business units, and other stakeholders to understand their IT and security needs, priorities, and concerns
- Communicate IT and security strategies, initiatives, and performance metrics to stakeholders in a clear, concise, and timely manner
- Create training materials and collaborate with training program directors on the security and privacy of data and assets within the organization

As a disruptor and market leader in this field AlphaSense has few direct competitors, being most closely compared to Wolfram Alpha or LexisNexis. It helps that its tools are undoubtedly effective and valued by knowledge professionals: the company counts about 85% of the S&P 100 as customers and is trusted by J.P.Morgan, Microsoft, Credit Suisse and Google, among other major enterprises.
Having raised a large amount of funding over 2022 and 2023, AlphaSense has moved quickly to double down on its expansion in European markets, opening an office in Berlin to support this. With 2024 seeing investment from Singaporean EDBI, it is now setting its sights on the Asia-Pacific region. As business intelligence will remain key for enterprises as they compete for market share, AlphaSense is well-placed for additional future growth.
