What the job involves

  • As a Key Account Manager Team Lead “Distri” you are responsible for numerous top accounts of the food industry and a big potential for the future growth of Too Good To Go, while mentoring and developing a current team of 6 people
  • Team leadership: ensure the team have the right tools and are in the best possible conditions to succeed through coaching, training & giving continuous feedback. You set the goals and priorities and are accountable for their overall performance
  • Account Management: ensuring the partnership is strong and delivering innovative strategies to grow (acquisition and optimisation). The focus should be on maximising our store coverage and overall supply, and guiding them on a zero waste approach. You capitalise on our innovations and novelties to keep our partners attracted by our solutions
  • Mapping & forecasting: Build and maintain a robust franchised store and account pipeline and manage the growth of your business unit
  • Pitching: create and deliver high quality, professional presentations to your partners, and confidently speak about the business and food waste proposition
  • Supporting rollouts: working with the team and the key accounts to plan, schedule and implement store rollouts and re-trainings at scale
  • Marketing: Develop and coordinate a specific communication strategy based on the account needs in collaboration with our marketing department
  • Contributing to the French Key Account strategy and supporting collaboration at global level for your accounts

Our take

With more than one-third of food wasted in shops and restaurants, tonnes of otherwise quality goods are unnecessarily lost. Too Good To Go connects customers to restaurants and stores that have unsold, surplus food, offering steep discounts. Through this, businesses can sell surplus meals that would've otherwise gone to waste, and the environment wins as no food is wasted.

The company has certainly found its niche with sustainability-conscious consumers (a group that is growing in size as environmentally-focused consumers get more spending power). Too Good To Go's app has over 90M users across 18 countries and 215,000+ partners including retailers, hotels and restaurants such as ALDI, Carrefour, Accor and YO! Sushi.

The company is also creating a food waste movement website intended to be an informative source of knowledge regarding the issue. This is part of a wider strategy at raising awareness of the food waste problem, to get more users on board and further help the planet.
