Role

Who you are

  • 3-6 years copywriting experience in-house or with an ad agency, ideally focused on fashion and lifestyle content
  • Your finger on the pulse of what’s hot—and what’s not
  • An understanding of copywriting nuance across marketing channels
  • A solid portfolio showcasing best-in-class brand copywriting inclusive of email and social assets (additional marketing channels are a plus!)
  • Clear understanding and point of view on brand voice, tone and style
  • Excellent grammar, editing and proofreading chops
  • An expert in brand storytelling, particularly across email and social
  • A conceptual thinker with big, bold ideas
  • A sharp writer with a portfolio highlighting email copywriting
  • A whiz at taking high level feedback and conjuring creative solutions with minor oversight
  • Easily able to manage many projects at once
  • Tapped into cultural conversations and entrenched in the current zeitgeist
  • Well-versed in fashion, lifestyle and social trends
  • Able to effortlessly translate insights to creative

What the job involves

  • This is an exciting opportunity for a Copywriter to join our Editorial Team as a compelling writer and creative thought partner
  • Reporting to the Senior Editorial Director
  • Exemplify Rothy’s unique tone of voice in email marketing, as this role will be the lead email copywriter across all segments—product launches, brand stories and beyond
  • Write engaging, emotive and compelling copy for organic and paid social
  • Uphold best-in-class copywriting practices and proofread with meticulous attention to detail
  • Identify opportunities for fresh storytelling across channels, and constantly evaluate new ways for Rothy’s brand voice to come to life
  • Participate in brainstorms and bring fresh ideas to the table while also living and breathing our brand guidelines
  • Support frequent, ongoing product naming projects
  • Approach long and short-term projects simultaneously, from swiftly tackling small copy requests to developing long-term creative strategies
  • Enthusiastically take a seasonal concept and translate it into tangible product stories
  • Drive brand awareness and engagement through masterful storytelling
  • Responsible for collaborating cross-functionally, both across the marketing team (with Art Directors, designers, brand managers, Ecommerce) and with other departments (Product, Merchandising, Retail Stores, etc.)

Our take

Sustainability is a feature that is highly sought after in today's fashion landscape, but premium clothing often fails to meet these interests. Beyond this, the few available sustainable alternatives are usually difficult to wash, maintain and recycle - which is what Rothy hopes to change.

Rothy designs accessories that simultaneously aim to be fashionable, durable, and eco-friendly. Its main focus is shoes, though it also sells bags and purses in a range of styles. Whilst companies have been using sustainable materials in fashion for many years, Rothy stands out for catering to an environment-conscious audience that does not want to compromise comfort and quality for their ethical decisions.

With sustainability concerns on the rise among consumers, Rothy's target market is growing year on year. This, combined with the comfort-first image it has accrued, should present plenty of opportunity for growth in the company's future.
