Company mission

To create incredible shared gaming moments.

Role

Who you are

  • Over 8+ years of C++ game development experience, with a significant focus on graphics and rendering
  • Proven experience in developing and shipping games (on either Mobile, Console, or PC platforms) with a strong emphasis on graphics
  • Comprehensive understanding of game engine architecture
  • Expertise in optimizing graphics code for performance, scalability, and clarity
  • As a T-shaped engineer, your skills should also span various areas such as low-level features and performance optimization, in addition to your graphics expertise
  • Experience with a variety of technologies is advantageous, including iOS, Android, macOS, Linux, Windows, ARM architectures, and graphics APIs such as PowerVR, OpenGL, DirectX, Vulkan, and Metal; familiarity with PlayStation and Xbox platforms is also valuable
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills and aren’t afraid to voice your opinion

What the job involves

  • As a Senior Engine Programmer - Graphics you’ll design, build and optimize the core proprietary engine technology and tools that lie at the heart of our games
  • Ultimately, you'll be creating the backbone and infrastructure that runs our games, enabling our designers and artists to build even more amazing characters, worlds and experiences that our players would previously have thought to be impossible
  • You’ll be working really closely with our CTO in a small but growing team to maintain and extend the client, server, and backend technologies, bring truly new and innovative engine technology to market, and to ALSO help us push the boundaries of what players can expect from mobile gaming
  • For the right candidate, this role could even be leveled up to an Architect / Lead position. Sounds SUPER evil, right??

Otta's take

COO of Otta

Mobile gaming has exploded since the creation of the iPhone. The segment now attracts more players worldwide than PC or Console gaming and is rivalling both of those segments for spend / game. A major part of that growth has been the increasing sophistication of gaming experiences on the small screen.

Super Evil Megacorp is one developer that is focused on delivering triple-A gaming experiences on smartphones. Crucially, it does not focus on any one operating system, but develops approaches to controls, technology, and systems that allow its games to rapidly extend its mobile-first designs to any platform.

The developer is now focused on increasing the player-base for its latest title, Catalyst Black which has received rave reviews. Upcoming titles include a collaboration with film director Zak Snyder on a tie-in game for his December 2023 Netflix release Rebel Moon. By continuing to focus on refining the player experience while onboarding players from different platforms, Super Evil Megacorp believes it can win more market share.

The challenge for any game developer however isn’t making a success out of any single hit piece of content. Instead, long-term success involves nurturing a team and a culture that continues to produce outstanding games. The evidence suggests that Super Evil Megacorp has all the right ingredients.

So far we have planned meet-ups for our team members in LA, San Francisco, Sao Paulo, London, Lisbon, and Barcelona. As we continue to grow, we will work towards supporting our Super Evil community connections.
  • REMOTE WORK HANDBOOK - Working in a full, global remote organization is more than a set of rules. It is a mindset and way of working that should truly empower our team. We constantly work to update our approach through active listening.
