Who you are

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA
  • Previous experience working as a Group Financial Controller
  • Experience in Financial Services and / or Payment Services
  • Be a hands-on qualified accountant who wishes to work in a fast-paced, international venture capital environment
  • Excellent problem solving & analytical skills
  • Demonstrate proven staff management & development skills
  • Be commercially aware and confident when liaising with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Good communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information in a clear and concise manner
  • Organised, diligent with strong attention to detail
  • A positive outlook and a continuous improvement mentality and strong systems and process skills

What the job involves

  • Reporting into the CFO, the Group Financial Controller will oversee financial control and consolidated financial reporting, manage working capital and implement new technologies to automate and streamline process
  • Lead, manage & develop the financial control team (currently 2 staff); support the wider Commercial Finance team as required
  • Implement robust processes and controls across the Group companies, ensuring continuous improvement and the effective use of NetSuite
  • Develop the finance operating model to support expansion into new territories such as the US
  • Provide an accurate & timelier month-end close process with reconciliations, analysis & commentary
  • Produce Management Accounts, include Balance Sheet, EBITDA, Cash flow, Regulatory Capital and key metrics
  • Preparation of the Group consolidated accounts
  • Work with Commercial Finance Manager to develop quarterly forecasts and annual Budget
  • Ensure that appropriate accounting policies, including revenue recognition, are in place and compliant with accounting standards
  • Oversee aspects of relevant compliance such as audits, monthly reporting to investors, statutory accounts
  • Responsible for tax compliance and tax planning for the Group, including transfer pricing and ensuring appropriate intercompany agreements
  • Treasury responsibilities, including near term cashflow reporting and maximising returns on corporate funds
  • Continuously monitor and improve financial performance and identify areas for cost reduction
  • Ensure appropriate insurance cover is in place across the Group
  • Support relevant ESG activities, including responsibility for the measurement of carbon footprint
  • Ownership of finance related responses to customer due diligence requests and RFPs
  • A broad range of ad hoc projects including supporting financing activity
