  • The Visual Merchandising Designer is a key role as we think more holistically about the world of Glossier across different customer touchpoints
  • This role will report into our Retail Design Director and act as a bridge between Marketing, Retail, Wholesale and the broader Creative team–ensuring that the Glossier brand vision is represented within the wholesale environment, for both new launches and evergreen campaigns
  • Lead, collaborate and develop impactful, scalable wholesale display systems
  • Develop advanced understanding of the Glossier brand through store visits, collaboration, and design explorations
  • Develop product layouts and merchandising strategy for wholesale locations, taking into account product highlights, hierarchy, functionality, and intuitiveness
  • Maintain the ongoing development and updates of visual display systems

  • Partner with marketing, wholesale, and the wider creative team to execute ongoing design projects and launches
  • Develop strong working relationships with key internal and external partners
  • Source where applicable and manage existing relationships with external vendors to deliver against visual merchandising deadlines and overarching company goals
  • Establish channels of communication with field teams to actively collect feedback, suggestions, and questions, applying them to ongoing design development

Our take

Weiss, a former stylist and beauty writer, started Glossier as an offshoot of her beauty blog 'Into the Gloss' in 2014. Early on, she got her products into the makeup cabinets of celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Karlie Kloss. Glossier shook up the beauty business by selling items online only in an industry that has always prioritized in-person sales.

Glossier focuses on minimalist products designed with customers' real beauty routines in mind. Its minimalist approach and small number of products mark a stark difference from traditional beauty brands. The company has developed a cult-like following as a beauty brand that emphasises communication with its customers, even involving them in the creation of its products.

The company has experienced impressive growth in recent years, marked by the opening of flagship brick-and-mortar stores in Seattle, Los Angeles, New York, and London. More recently, it expanded further with the launch of its products in Space NK stores across the UK and Ireland, signalling that the brand has no intention of slowing down anytime soon.
