Who you are

  • Views software development as a team activity, and thrives in a highly collaborative, agile culture that prioritises teaching and learning
  • 4+ years experience developing performant, scalable and resilient applications
  • Proven experience with one or more Object Oriented languages, such as Java, C#, C++, Scala ...etc
  • Experience with Integration technologies
  • Strong understanding of the value of automated tests at all levels of the testing pyramid
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under tight deadlines where customer first is a key principle for success
  • Team Leadership and/or Agile leadership experience
  • Exposure to modern UI technologies such as React
  • Metadata driven definitional development experience

  • Join a team of talented, dynamic and passionate software engineers, working with key architects, product managers, and other stakeholders delivering a new generation of on-demand Enterprise solutions designed to meet the needs of today's global businesses
  • The team’s overall goal will be to expand the Recruiting suite of products with integrations to third party partners as well as acquisitions in an agile environment while safeguarding the high quality our customers expect from Workday applications
  • Workday is unique in that it builds enterprise software in the cloud on a single codeline through a continuous development model, allowing for rapid delivery of our software to our customers
  • Design and develop an OO product in a metadata-driven development environment and build integrations with partners & acquisitions
  • Write and maintain SOLID, robust, efficient and maintainable code using an OO framework and tools
  • Solve challenging problems in our Recruiting application related to performance, scalability, and resilience
  • Write reliable unit, integration, and system level tests that will run on our CD pipeline
  • Understand and promote industry best practice
  • Mentor and learn from other Recruiting team members in the USA and Ireland through pair programming, code reviews, knowledge shares, hackathons, etc

Our take

Workday is a cloud-based software vendor that provides management of workforces and finances. The company uses a single database for workforce management and financial management to offer integration and optimize business intelligence across companies. It has added to the packages and tools it offers over the years, providing analytic options that allow companies to combine third-party data with information collected by Workday.

Workday has acquired and paired up with many other companies to keep expanding its offering. In 2021, it purchased the employee feedback platform Peakon in response to the growing need for managers to be able to survey workers and collect satisfaction data without face-to-face meetings. The company has also bought and developed many financial tools and HR management tools.

The company’s goal is to provide end-to-end back office services and while there are other providers, such as UKG Pro and Ceridian HCM, Workday’s broad offering helps them to stand out. Though it faced a tough global market in 2023 and has shed some of its headcount, Workday has seen a 6.5% gain in value in the first quarter of 2024. It is now focusing on growth and developing the AI capabilities of its platform. .
